Leave nothing but journey histories, take nothing but pictures; speak softly and carry a big lightsaber.
Hi, I'm Gemma (soft 'g', as in 'giraffe') — pronouns 'she/her'. I'm a British-born resident of Sweden. I make various sorts of games, and am a freelance designer specialising in accessible and inclusive play. I've been involved in various diversity efforts since 2013, including LadyCADE and Diversi.
My past work includes a fair deal of game jams, some (but far from all) of which are represented here on Itch. I've also worked on games for PC, mobile devices and consoles. I consider myself genre-agnostic, but tend to come back to strategy games, and those which are driven primarily by narrative.
My latest work — under the banner of 'Metrowitch Interactive' — is informed by matters about which I spoke at QGcon 2018, on ritual play. I'm interested in exploring how ritual and play can intersect with each other, and how that may satisfy or entertain the player at their centre.
